This version 3 adds flat tilt to this mix. Already there have been: Bell, Low Shelf, Low Cut, High Shelf, High Cut, Notch, Band Pass, and Tilt Shelf. Just to throw it in here, there is a new shape for your EQ band. Well, kids, you can do that with this EQ too! With Pro-Q 3 you can even have dynamic control of areas of the mid and side spread. It has been said that compression is the most musical effect because you can change the sound over time. You can create an EQ band and push up beyond it or pull down below it dynamically when it crosses the threshold you set. Not only can each of your up to 24 bands of EQ be stereo, left, right, mid, or side, but they can also be dynamic. Review: Morph EQ by Minimal Audio Dynamic Duo You might find you have no need of a stereo making spacial plug after all. That’s five fields of operation to choose from PER NODE! The level of control this gives you on the sound field is astounding. In addition to each of up to 24 EQ bands being either stereo, left, or right, you can now also designate mid or side on any or all of them. The current incarnation, Pro-Q 3, stands well above the previous in new and exciting ways. If you have accumulated any sort of tool belt, then you likely have Pro-Q 2 handy as one of your first options. The previous incarnation, Pro-Q 2, is an obvious goto EQ for a great many sound engineers.

#Fabfilter one review update
I’ve been a customer of theirs for many years and can’t remember a single bug-fix update, let alone an update to work with a new operating system. This makes for easy decisions for loyal customers, and it allows FabFilter to focus on making fewer products and making them extremely good. They do one limiter and do it incredibly well. They don’t do multiple EQs, they do one EQ and do it incredibly well. One last thing, FabFilter only does one plug of a type. Know one well and you are already on your way to learning any of the others. Certainly their EQ, Compressor, Multiband Compressor, Limiter, Gate, and De-esser, all feel like they belong to a close-knit family so far as the sense of how they work is concerned. Becoming familiar with one makes you feel at home with all the others to varying degrees. Such loyalty discounts are always there and are combined with any special promotions automatically so long as you are logged into your account.Īnother thing FabFilter does is have an interface style that feels familiar between their 14 plugs. Each successive purchase is cheaper until you ultimately reach 55% off. There is no difference between buying five of their plugs all at once or buying five one at a time over a period of time. The more you have purchased, the bigger the discount going forward. What they do all the time is discount their products for people who have purchased from them before. While we’re talking about FabFilter, I thought I’d mention their loyalty discount program because in this age of perpetual sales FabFilter rarely seems to have a sale, and I’ve seen people bash them online for it. Maybe Elizabeth Barrett Browning could’ve done it. But I cannot for the life of me encapsulate a review inside a parody of a famous sonnet. I’m sorry, I can indeed write my own sonnet, and I can indeed write my own review. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height How do I love thee, let me count the ways
